Responsibilities

• Recruit, select, interview, reference-check, and recommend personnel for positions.
• Ensure employees possess proper certification and place them in assignments.
• Lead district negotiations and participate in staff bargaining processes.
• Administer and interpret collective bargaining agreements; represent district in hearings.
• Oversee discipline, discharge proceedings, and maintain HR records.
• Coordinate school calendar with Educational Association.
• Maintain state/federal reports and respond to personnel information requests.
• Keep current on laws affecting personnel functions (e.g., Michigan School Code).
• Oversee HR data base development and employee benefits administration.
• Prepare HR department budget and supervise substitutes' assignments.
