Job summary

Hyster‑Yale Materials Handling, Inc. is seeking an HR Manager I to be based at the Portland, Oregon site.

The role focuses on aligning HR strategies with business objectives and leading core talent activities, including recruiting support and onboarding for new hires. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of HR experience, with a strong background in leadership coaching, employee relations, compliance, and benefits within a matrixed manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field; advanced degree or HR certification preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including HRBP roles.
• Experience supporting engineering, manufacturing, or technical teams.
• Experience working in a matrixed or global organization.
• Strong capabilities in leadership coaching, talent development, employee relations, compliance and benefits.

Responsibilities

• Partner with site and business leaders to align on objectives and provide HR guidance on workforce planning and organizational needs.
• Lead core talent activities: recruiting support, workforce planning, performance management, succession planning, and onboarding.
• Coach managers through employee issues to create a high‑performing work environment.
• Oversee day‑to‑day HR operations including benefits support, policy interpretation, and employment law compliance.
• Support organizational changes and site initiatives by aiding communication and reinforcing company culture.
