Job summary

Semafor is seeking a Senior Manager of HR Operations to blend people-ops expertise with office management and project leadership in a hybrid New York role.

You will own onboarding/offboarding, HRIS systems (Rippling, ChartHop, Greenhouse), drive process improvements, and lead the NYC office move from planning through execution.

Collaborate with CFO, Finance, HR, IT, and department heads to ensure compliant, scalable people operations across the company.

Qualifications

• Experience in HR operations or people operations with end-to-end lifecycle ownership.
• Strong project management with ability to handle complex moves or system implementations.
• Experience building and updating HR policies and employee handbooks.
• Familiarity with HRIS, analytics tools and data integrity requirements.
• Excellent communication across levels and confidentiality.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace and collaboration tools.

Responsibilities

• Own onboarding and offboarding end-to-end with compliant, well‑documented processes.
• Maintain and optimize HR systems stack (Rippling, ChartHop, Greenhouse) for data integrity.
• Lead the NYC office move from planning through execution and coordination with stakeholders.
• Develop, document and improve People Operations processes and SOPs for scalability.
• Produce HR reporting on headcount, turnover, and compliance metrics for leadership.
