Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Senior HR Manager to own the People function in a growing logistics company. This on-site role is based at our St. Charles, IL HQ with responsibilities spanning employee relations, performance management, and talent planning.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years of HR experience, a BA or equivalent, and experience running annual people cycles. Competitive compensation plus 401(k) match, medical/dental/vision, and generous PTO are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.
• 5–7 years of progressive HR experience with broad HR operations.
• Experience with employee relations, investigations, and performance management.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws, including leave administration.

Responsibilities

• Partner with business leaders to translate workforce plans into hiring, capability building, retention, and succession actions.
• Oversee employee relations, workplace investigations, performance management, and leave requests; coordinate with legal counsel on high-risk matters.
• Run the annual people cycle: talent reviews, succession inputs, performance calibration, compensation planning.
• Collaborate with executive leadership and Finance on recruiting, compensation, benefits, HR systems, and budgets.
• Maintain HR controls, records, policy governance, and employment law compliance across locations.
• Develop strategies to strengthen engagement, morale, and productivity.
• Build scalable HR practices to support growth and improve processes.
• Manage full-cycle recruiting and onboarding from posting to orientation.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Partner with business leaders to translate workforce plans into hiring, capability building, retention, succession, and organizational actions
• Oversee employee relations, workplace investigations, performance management, and leave requests; partner with legal counsel on high-risk matters
• Run the annual people cycle: talent reviews, succession inputs, performance calibration, compensation planning, and development follow-through
• Partner with executive leadership and Finance on recruiting, compensation, benefits, HR systems, people data, and workforce budgets
• Maintain sound HR controls, accurate records, policy governance, and employment law compliance across multiple locations
• Develop and implement strategies to strengthen employee engagement, morale, and productivity
• Build scalable HR practices to support growth and continuously improve HR processes
• Manage full-cycle recruiting and onboarding, from job postings and interviews through new hire orientation

Qualifications

Needed:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience, ideally 5 to 7 years
• Broad experience across employee relations, investigations, performance management, talent, and core HR operations
• Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws, including leave administration (FMLA/ADA)
• Experience running an annual people cycle: performance reviews, talent and succession reviews, and compensation planning
• Hands-on recruiting and onboarding experience
• Proven ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and handle sensitive matters with discretion
• Ability to work on-site in St. Charles, IL

Preferred:

• SHRM-SCP or SPHR
• Experience in a growing or entrepreneurial environment, including acquisition integration
• Multi-site or organizational change/transformation experience
• Experience operating as a lean or one-person HR function
• Transportation, logistics, or other multi-site operations background
