Job summary

Goodwill of Western and Northern Connecticut (GWCT) is seeking a Senior Director of Human Resources to provide strategic and operational leadership across all HR functions. The role oversees talent acquisition, employee relations, compliance, performance management, learning and development, compensation and benefits, and HR operations.

As a hands-on leader, you will guide organizational change, strengthen the HR team, and ensure reliable HR services and systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, business, or related field; master’s preferred.
• Senior-level HR experience with leadership through organizational transformation.
• Strong knowledge of federal and CT employment laws; manage complex personnel matters.
• Hands-on ADP and HRIS proficiency, including reporting and workflows.
• Experience in multi-site nonprofit or human-services organizations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee recruitment and workforce planning to secure needed skills.
• Lead employee relations matters, investigations, and accommodations while coordinating with legal counsel.
• Ensure compliance with federal and CT laws; mitigate employment-related risk through policies and training.
• Strengthen performance management, onboarding, development, and succession planning.
• Provide data-driven HR insights and partner with leadership to implement changes.
