Job summary

Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS) seeks a Senior HR Manager to provide comprehensive human resources services and act as a strategic business partner. You will support leadership with workforce planning, employee relations, performance management, and organizational development in a fast-paced governmental setting.

Based in Atlanta, this role offers telework options depending on the position and a robust benefits package.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High school diploma/GED and five (5) years of managerial or supervisory experience in human resources.
• Two (2) years of experience required at the lower-level Manager 2, Human Resources (HRM011);
• Equivalents allowed year-over-year.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a strategic HR partner to assigned divisions and leadership teams.
• Provides guidance on HR policies and workforce strategies.
• Manages employee relations matters, including conflict resolution and performance management.
• Advises on organizational structure, staffing, and talent initiatives.
• Oversee onboarding, promotions, transfers, and separations in compliance with laws.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws and agency procedures.
• Review and approve personnel actions and HR transactions.
• Collaborate with leadership to support engagement, succession, and retention.
