Job summary

Plymouth Rock Assurance seeks an HR Director to lead a small HR team and act as a trusted business partner across the organization, shaping a people-first culture and aligning HR services with business goals.

This generalist role covers benefits, onboarding/offboarding, employee relations, payroll support, and employee events, requiring a strategic yet hands-on leader who can drive results in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive HR experience with growth in scope and responsibility.
• Prior experience managing or leading an HR team.
• Proven HR Business Partner experience including coaching leaders and managing complex employee relations matters.
• Experience in the insurance or financial services industry preferred.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state employment law and HR compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a small HR team, fostering a collaborative and service-oriented department culture.
• Set clear goals and priorities for the HR team, ensuring efficient delivery of HR services across the organization.
• Model and promote Plymouth Rock's values and a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Partner with business unit leaders as a trusted HR advisor, working alongside managers to navigate performance management, employee relations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary matters.
• Build strong relationships with business unit leaders to understand goals and proactively align HR support with business needs.
• Analyze HR metrics and trends to identify opportunities and drive proactive solutions.
• Provide oversight for benefits and leave of absence programs, ensuring compliance and consistency.
• Manage core HR operational processes, including onboarding, offboarding, employee records, and status changes.
