Job summary

CBIZ is seeking a Senior HR Generalist to deliver full-scope human resources services for diverse clients in a fast-paced environment. The role includes payroll, benefits administration, onboarding/offboarding, compliance, and employee relations, with an emphasis on client interaction from the St.

Louis, MO office. The ideal candidate has 5–10 years’ HR experience, strong knowledge of employment laws, and proficiency with HR software and payroll systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field with 5–10 years of HR experience.
• Experience managing HR functions across multiple states.
• Experience with external HR clients in consulting/outsourcing.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient with HR software and payroll systems.
• HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
• Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day HR operations for client engagements.
• Lead client transitions and onboarding processes to ensure smooth HR integration.
• Serve as first contact for escalated or complex HR matters and resolve issues.
• Ensure compliance with employment laws, company policies, and HR standards.
• Oversee onboarding, orientation, and new hire documentation for clients.
• Oversee offboarding processes and ensure proper handling of separations.
• Process client payrolls using third-party payroll platforms and review data.
• Support benefits administration, leave management, and related inquiries.
• Coordinate with clients and benefits brokers on renewals and plan changes.
