Description
We are now hiring a SeniorHR Generalist to join our team! The Senior Human Resource Generalist will run the daily functions of the Fall Creek Human Resource (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, supporting the plant safety program and enforcing company policies and practices. As the sole HR person at this location, it is a great opportunity for someone that enjoys the variety of full scope HR.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all recruitment and hiring activities for the facility, including advertising & job postings, resume reviews, scheduling and conducting interviews and extending job offers.
- Manage pre-employment screening activities, including pre-employment drug screenings, background checks, reference checks, etc.
- Coordinate and conduct orientation and onboarding activities.
- Data management in payroll and benefit systems.
- Responsible for employee relations, including but not limited to:
- Responding to employee questions & concerns.
- Performance management.
- Supervisory support for disciplinary action, attendance management, employee conflict or policy violations.
- Managing the post-accident & reasonable suspicion drug & alcohol testing process.
- Handling any necessary investigations related to harassment, discrimination or other employee misconduct that warrants an investigation process.
- Manage leave of absence programs, including FMLA, personal leaves, disability claim process and all associated paperwork and communication.
- Responsible for record keeping and file management.
- Support employment law management (ADA, Harassment & Discrimination, DOL, FLSA, etc.) including, but not limited to:
- Supervisor training.
- Policy management & enforcement.
- Reasonable accommodation requests.
- Employee communication, education & required postings.
- Support the plant safety program through:
- Management of safety policies, programs and trainings.
- Administration of workers comp and OSHA reporting requirements.
- Complete post-accident investigations, working cross functionally to identify root cause and corrective actions for any incidents or injuries.
- Maintains contact with all employees absent from work with job related injuries.
- Identifies and offers modified work as appropriate
Qualifications
- 4+ years of HR experience required, food and/or manufacturing experience preferred
- Bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree or HR Certification a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate with all levels of organization.
- Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.
- Helpful, positive attitude.
- Organized with a strong attention to detail.
- Service-oriented, with strong influence and collaboration skills.
- Adaptable and flexible, with time management skills and ability to prioritize.
