Job summary

Ladders is seeking a Staff HPC Infrastructure Engineer to design, operate, and scale high-performance computing environments for scientific workloads. You will own day-to-day stability across clustered systems, storage, and networking while collaborating with vendors and mentors to elevate the team.

The role emphasizes hands-on operations in both on-premise and cloud environments, with opportunities to modernize infrastructure and contribute to critical research initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field with significant relevant experience.
• Expertise in Linux/Unix administration and TCP/IP networking.
• Hands-on experience with automation tools like Ansible.
• Strong knowledge of high-performance networking technologies.
• Experience with large-scale data storage and HPC environments.
• Familiarity with both on-premise and cloud infrastructures.
• Ability to create and maintain technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple HPC clusters and file systems.
• Integrate cloud bursting into HPC operations.
• Troubleshoot production systems to the source code level.
• Support and monitor HPC environment and infrastructure.
• Mentor junior engineers and support ongoing training.
• Collaborate with offsite consultants and vendors.
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation.
