Job summary

Travel between College Park, MD and McLean, VA is expected; the engineer will engage with national HPC communities, handle compliance requirements (NIST 800-171, CMMC), and contribute to security and performance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Three (3) years of professional HPC engineering or systems design experience.
• Knowledge of Unix/Linux internals and distributed systems management.
• Experience with HPC software stacks, NFS/Samba, and scripting languages (Python, Perl, Shell).
• Willingness to travel between College Park, MD and McLean, VA.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, maintain, and operate HPC resources.
• Install and configure hardware, OS, and application software on Linux.
• Collaborate with HPC team and present at national conferences.
• Ensure compliance with security standards (e.g., NIST SP 800-171).
• Assist during off-hours as needed for problem resolution.
