Job summary

Mount Sinai seeks a Senior HPC Administrator to operate a secure, compliant HPC environment supporting regulated research workloads. You will lead cybersecurity, data governance, and incident response efforts while delivering high-performance, auditable services.

Responsibilities include managing a 30,000+ core HPC cluster, 50+ PB storage, and interfacing with DTP Cybersecurity and governance teams. A BS in a technical field is required; advanced degrees preferred.

Qualifications

• Holds a technical degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
• Experience with large-scale HPC environments and regulated data.
• Strong cybersecurity, governance, and incident response capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide full lifecycle administration of secure HPC infrastructure (compute, storage, networking).
• Manage job scheduling platforms (LSF) and Open OnDemand access environments.
• Design and enforce secure network architectures and access controls.
• Lead troubleshooting for system, hardware, software, and network issues.
• Implement and maintain security controls, encryption, logging, and audit trails.
• Ensure CMS DMP SAQ, NIH/NIST controls, and Mount Sinai standards compliance.
• Coordinate audits, remediation, and audit readiness activities.
• Deliver user support and create technical docs for CMS cluster.
