Job summary

Columbia Technology Partners, Inc. seeks a System Administrator 3 to support IT systems across complex enterprise environments, including high-performance computing and high-speed networking.

You will lead advanced troubleshooting, configure Linux systems, manage storage fabrics (Lustre, DDN Exascaler), and use Salt or Ansible for automation while monitoring with Nagios, Prometheus, and Grafana.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline; 5+ years of additional experience may substitute
• Minimum 10 years of experience as a System Administrator in similar environments
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (or equivalent)
• Advanced experience with Linux systems, HPC environments, and networking (including storage fabrics)
• Experience with automation, monitoring, and performance tools (e.g., Ansible, Salt, Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana)

Responsibilities

• Provide implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance support for IT systems
• Perform advanced Tier 2 problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution
• Manage system operations, including monitoring, maintenance, and optimization
• Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Linux operating systems across enterprise environments
• Support HPC infrastructure, including high-speed networking (InfiniBand, Slingshot)
• Administer and troubleshoot storage solutions, including Lustre file systems and DDN Exascaler appliances
• Support TCP/IP networking and storage fabric environments
• Utilize automation and configuration tools (Salt, Ansible) to improve efficiency
• Maintain and enhance system monitoring and alerting (Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana)
• Lead troubleshooting efforts and provide technical guidance for complex system issues
