Job summary

The City of Monterey is seeking a Housing Manager to lead the Housing Division, directing programs and projects that expand affordable housing in compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.

Reporting to the Community Development Director, the manager will supervise staff, develop policy, manage complex housing initiatives, and ensure alignment with the City's goals and priorities for housing outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in public administration or urban planning; Master's degree desirable.
• Six (6) years of progressively responsible professional housing experience, including two (2) years of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs, coordinates, and supervises the Housing Division.
• Ensures housing programs/projects comply with Federal, State and Local laws and align with city goals.
• Provides staff leadership and policy development for housing initiatives.
