Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York seeks a Supervising Attorney to lead a team of attorneys, paralegals, and housing advocates within the Food & Housing Division Office: Preserving Housing. You will oversee program goals, supervise staff, manage client representation, and engage with community partners.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree and admission to the NYS Bar.
• 5+ years of legal and supervisory experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to lead and motivate a team.
• Familiarity with housing court practice and residential landlord-tenant law is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Oversee the EPGP program, develop and maintain goals and objectives.
• Stay abreast of NYS housing court laws.
• Supervise paralegals, program manager and support staff to ensure quality representation.
• Coordinate intake and respond to client, community, and staff concerns.
• Monitor and maintain a high standard of holistic representation and client service.
• Analyze legal issues, develop legal strategy, supervise implementation.
• Represent clients with a caseload and co-counsel staff attorneys.
• Develop and maintain community relationships with organizations, agencies, officials, and courts.
• Create and maintain a productive work environment.
• Conduct community education, training, and outreach to promote the office work.
