Job summary

Major League Soccer is seeking a Manager of Hotel & Meeting Operations to lead planning and execution of enterprise meetings and hotel operations for MLS and SUM events. You will source hotels, develop RFPs, negotiate contracts, and manage budgets while collaborating with internal stakeholders to deliver high‑quality experiences.

The role requires 5+ years in hotel and meeting operations, strong negotiation and leadership skills, and the ability to travel and work non-traditional hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 5+ years of relevant hotel & meeting operations experience
• Strong contract negotiation, influencing and event management skills
• Ability to travel and to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Experience developing and managing event budgets; over $2M per program
• Knowledge of Cvent, Passkey and hospitality planning tools
• Experience working with hotel brand GSOs and executives
• Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Business proficiency in Spanish and knowledge of soccer (desired)

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end hotel operations, meetings management, and execution for assigned programs
• Coordinate with planning stakeholders on meeting and hotel needs; manage reservations and vendor communications
• Manage timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure on-time, on-budget events
• Develop and evaluate event briefs, RFP materials, and sourcing plans
• Negotiate hotel and venue agreements; work with Legal on contract review
• Oversee hotel room blocks, VIP suites, and billing; produce reports and reconciliations
• Prepare stakeholder-ready presentations, plans, and post-event recaps
• Support guest communications and sponsorship fulfillment; collaborate with internal teams
• Supervise freelance staff and optimize planning tools and processes
• Support day-to-day administrative operations of the department
