Job summary

The Belamar Hotel is seeking a Chief Engineer in Manhattan Beach, CA, to lead the maintenance department and ensure smooth operations across the property.

The role requires at least two years of supervisory maintenance experience, extensive knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and related systems, and strong safety leadership. Qualifications

• Two years minimum hotel maintenance supervision experience or progressive maintenance responsibilities.
• Working knowledge of electricity, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, screening, locks, HVAC, pool/spa care.
• Proper use of tools and chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor when serving hotel guests.
• Communicate effectively with guests and team members.
• Supervise interior and exterior maintenance across the property.
• Perform corrective, preventative and emergency maintenance to keep the property safe and attractive.
• Document ongoing room preventative maintenance.
• Schedule and assign duties to maintenance staff.
• Ensure tools and equipment are functional and safe.
• Maintain records of maintenance types and frequency.
• Make approved purchases of supplies, equipment and services.
• Maintain inventory of tools, supplies and equipment.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and participate in Safety Committee.
• Ensure certifications are maintained and regulatory health and safety standards are met.
