Job summary

Ivy Hospitality is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead the maintenance team and ensure the hotel’s physical operations run safely and efficiently. You will manage HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems while guiding preventive maintenance and cost control.

Strong leadership and OSHA knowledge are required, with a preference for an operating engineer license. This on-site role focuses on guest comfort, safety, and continuous service improvements.

Qualifications

• Education: 2-year degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• Extensive knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and refrigeration systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex equipment issues.
• Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and compliance.
• Preferred first-class operating engineer license for boilers/air conditioning.
• Proven ability to lead a maintenance team and communicate effectively.
• Ability to work in varied conditions and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance department and hotel operations for safe, reliable facilities.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for all systems.
• Ensure life safety and security programs are followed and tested.
• Monitor expenses, contracts, and capital projects to meet financial goals.
• Supervise external contractors and coordinate timely work completion.
