Job summary

The Palms Hotel & Spa in Miami Beach, FL seeks a hands-on Chief Engineer to manage the appearance, equipment and systems of the property. This leadership role requires active involvement with guests and team members and participation in the Hotel Executive Committee and Manager on Duty program.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in building trades or hotel/motel engineering.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications welcomed.
• Experience with OSHA safety standards and chemical handling.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance operations for all hotel mechanical equipment and systems.
• Lead the maintenance team and coordinate with vendors to meet budgets.
• Ensure safety, cleanliness, and compliance with Local, State and Federal laws.
• Present on the hotel Executive Committee and participate in Manager on Duty program.
• Maintain comprehensive maintenance logs and preventive schedules.
