Job summary

The Palms Hotel & Spa in Miami Beach seeks a hands-on Chief Engineer to oversee the appearance and operation of the property, equipment, and systems. This role participates on the hotel Executive Committee and leads the maintenance team with strong guest-focused leadership.

Responsibilities include coordinating with vendors, managing staff, and ensuring compliance with OSHA and safety standards while maintaining the highest levels of hotel service and facility presentation.

Qualifications

• Experience in building trades or hotel engineering (5+ years).
• Ability to train and supervise maintenance staff.
• Strong communication with guests and team members.

Responsibilities

• Direct maintenance operations to ensure guest rooms and public areas are well maintained.
• Manage maintenance team, landscaping, pool, and coordination with Executive Housekeeper.
• Hire, train, schedule, and inspect maintenance staff; work with vendors to ensure efficiency and compliance.
