Job summary

Highgate Hotels is seeking a Cook for the Kimpton Miralina Resort in Paradise Valley, AZ. You will prepare items for Restaurants, Room Service, Employee Cafeteria and Banquets, while upholding high standards of quality, cleanliness, and safety.

Responsibilities include pre-opening prep, buffet display, line service, and assisting in various kitchen stations. The role requires stamina, the ability to work long hours, and knowledge of hotel recipes and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• Culinary experience required.
• Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
• Proficiency in cooking techniques: charbroiling, poaching, deep-frying, sauté, braising, roasting and par-cooking.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of all storage areas.
• Complete necessary food and station preparation prior to opening to serve guests promptly.
• Prepare and display buffet food items according to hotel standards.
• Recognize quality standards in vegetables, fish, dairy and meat products.
• Maintain safe and sanitary kitchen environment and proper handling of food.
• Prepare food for Banquets and Employee Cafeteria as required.
• Follow hotel standard recipes and support any kitchen position as needed.
• Ensure proper storage, rotation of food items and safety protocols.
