Job summary

Courtyard by Marriott Downtown Little Italy, part of Schulte Hosptiality Group, seeks a dynamic Controller to lead financial operations in a hospitality environment. You will safeguard assets, ensure GAAP/USALI compliance, and drive timely reporting for executive leadership.

The role requires a strong accounting background, five years in hospitality finance, and leadership capabilities to guide the accounting team and partner with external auditors and lenders.

Qualifications

• GAAP and USALI knowledge required to manage hotel accounting functions.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with leadership responsibility.
• Experience leading accounting teams and ensuring timely financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Ensure GAAP/USALI compliance across all hotel finance functions.
• Safeguard assets and ensure accurate transactions through internal controls and audits.
• Lead day-to-day accounting: AP, cash disbursements, invoicing, payroll, inventory, fixed assets, cost accounting.
• Prepare timely monthly financials for executives and the Board.
• Provide financial analysis for ventures, capex, and costings.
• Communicate financial concepts clearly to drive results.
• Maintain banking relationships and monitor data accuracy to support revenue goals.
• Collaborate with auditors, banks, insurers, and lenders.
