Job summary

Corewell Health in Royal Oak, MI seeks a Power Plant Operator to ensure hospital utilities are provided safely and without interruption. This role offers 24-hour alarm response and supports steam, chilled water, and electrical systems critical to patient care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• City of Detroit or Dearborn High Pressure Boiler Operator License, 1st Class Refrigeration Operator license, or Stationary Engineer Journeyman with Industrial Refrigeration experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of job-related experience after attainment of licenses.
• Preferred: EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification, Confined Space Entrant/Supervisor, and related coursework.

Responsibilities

• Ensures Power Plant is providing utilities effectively for hospital operations.
• Performs inspections, repairs, and maintenance on operating systems and auxiliaries.
• Performs detailed logged inspection rounds on operating and non-operating systems.
• Documents shift events and conditions in daily log book.
• Provides 24-hour response to alarms of building monitoring system.
• Monitors energy management system and uses tools/equipment safely.
