Job summary

Prime Healthcare is seeking a Hospital Maintenance Technician III for Riverview Regional Medical Center in Gadsden, AL. The role focuses on advanced maintenance of hospital systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety equipment to ensure a safe patient environment.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, emergency response, and coordination with contractors on renovations, with a preference for those with boiler/steam system experience and healthcare setting exposure.

Qualifications

• Able to troubleshoot, read schematics, and/or blue prints
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required
• Certified and/or licensed in a trade relative to healthcare engineering (Steam boiler, HVAC)
• Five (5) years experience in an acute healthcare setting

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, medical gas, and other systems
• Respond quickly to emergency repair requests to restore hospital operations
• Regularly inspect and test critical hospital safety systems such as backup generators, fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, and life safety equipment
• Perform Preventative Maintenance during regular inspections to prevent breakdowns
• Assist with hospital renovation and construction projects; coordinate work with contractors
