Job summary

UAB Medicine in Birmingham, AL is seeking an Enterprise IT Systems Architect to design, implement, and support the hospital's IT infrastructure, integrating EPIC EHR and other clinical systems in a secure, high-availability environment.

You will lead architecture efforts across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments, mentor staff, and translate complex technical concepts for stakeholders, ensuring alignment with hospital operations and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

Associate's degree in Information Systems or related field; 10 years of related experience required.
Preferred: 10+ years in enterprise architecture in large hospital systems.
Experience with EPIC EHR, server and application virtualization, disaster recovery, and multi-cloud.
Strong knowledge of networking, security, HIPAA compliance, and storage systems.
Excellent communication and ability to translate technical concepts to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Lead technical planning, system architecture design, and implementation of IT infrastructure projects.
Provide technical leadership for on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.
Collaborate with development teams to align IT solutions with hospital standards.
Identify risks and propose mitigation strategies.
