Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking a Senior Building Engineer to serve as the operational backbone for a mission-critical hospital campus in Plano, TX.

You will lead daily maintenance workflows, perform hands-on tasks, and drive a robust preventive maintenance program to ensure safety and peak performance. You will monitor BAS platforms, coordinate with contractors, and respond to emergencies while upholding healthcare regulations and life safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 5-8 years of job‑related experience.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage team workflows, and make independent decisions in a high‑pressure environment.
• Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
• The innovative mentality to develop methods that go beyond existing solutions.
• Ability to solve unique problems using standard and innovative solutions having a broad impact on the business.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
• Expert organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.

Responsibilities

• Manage and direct daily maintenance workflows, ensuring all work orders are completed efficiently and within established SLAs.
• Perform hands-on maintenance on building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and facility infrastructure.
• Lead the implementation and execution of a robust preventative maintenance program to extend equipment lifespan and minimize downtime.
• Utilize and monitor BAS platforms to proactively manage environmental conditions and energy efficiency.
• Oversee third‑party contractors, schedule site visits, coordinate access, and audit work for quality and contract compliance.
• Serve as a primary responder for facility emergencies and critical system failures, diagnosing issues rapidly.
• Ensure maintenance activities comply with healthcare regulations and life safety codes; conduct inspections for life safety systems.
• Travel to local satellite facilities as needed to provide technical support and ensure operational consistency across the campus.
