Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA seeks a Director of Environmental Services to provide strategic and operational leadership for Environmental Services and related non-clinical support functions. You will lead a large team through managers, supervisors, and team leaders to ensure a clean, safe, compliant, and patient-centered environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required; two years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of the degree.
Progressive Environmental Services leadership experience in a complex healthcare environment.
Experience in Level I trauma center, tertiary care hospital, academic medical center, or comparably complex healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

Lead Environmental Services teams and oversee daily operations, budgets, staffing and performance metrics.
Ensure a clean, safe, compliant and patient-centered environment for patients, visitors and staff.
Develop and implement policies, procedures, and programs to improve quality and efficiency; drive accountability and engagement.
Collaborate with Nursing, Infection Prevention, Safety, Facilities, Patient Experience, clinical departments and hospital leadership to support satisfaction and operations.
