Job summary

Hippo Insurance is seeking a Liability & Litigation Adjuster to manage complex homeowners property and liability claims with emphasis on litigated and pre-litigation matters. You will investigate losses, evaluate coverage, and negotiate settlements while collaborating with policyholders, vendors, and outside counsel.

You will mentor teammates, support supervisory needs, and ensure timely resolution in a fast-paced environment. A multi-state license with Texas capability is preferred.

Qualifications

• Six+ years of Property & Casualty claims experience.
• Experience with homeowners liability investigation and litigation (first and third party).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to mentor teammates and support supervision when needed.
• Knowledge of DOI regulations and market practices.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of property and liability losses for Personal Lines Homeowners claims, emphasizing litigated files.
• Initiate contact with policyholders to set expectations and establish an action plan.
• Investigate complex claims and review transferred files to determine action plans.
• Analyze findings and policy language to determine coverage.
• Communicate coverage determinations clearly to policyholders.
• Coordinate with vendors for field work and maintain accurate records.
• Negotiate settlements within authority and escalate as needed.
• Ensure timely follow-up and maintain open policyholder communication.
• Monitor reserves to reflect exposure and collaborate with legal counsel.
