Job description

As a Senior Homeowner Liability Claims Adjuster, you will investigate and manage highly complex homeowner claims. Your responsibilities include determining liability, securing information, reviewing coverages, arranging appraisals, and settling claims. You should demonstrate experience in all claim adjustment activities with independence and proficiency, specializing in homeowner liability and structural property damage claims, with opportunities to expand into commercial liability claims. You will report to a Senior Manager, Adjusting Services.

This primarily home-based role involves spending 80% of your time working from home. Candidates must reside near: Madison, WI; Boston, MA; Minneapolis, MN; Denver, CO; Phoenix, AZ; Keene, NH; St. Joseph, MO; Atlanta, GA.

Position Compensation Range: $68,000.00 - $113,000.00

Pay Rate Type: Salary

Compensation may vary based on job level and geographic location. Relocation support is available for eligible candidates.

Primary Accountabilities:

1. Investigate the origin and cause of claims by contacting insureds, claimants, agents, attorneys, contractors, experts, special investigation units, other adjusters, and public personnel.
2. Identify complex issues and seek assistance when needed. Handle claims in good faith.
3. Manage Third-Party Structural Property Damage Liability claims across multiple policy types and endorsements.
4. Respond to customer inquiries, make decisions, and close files as appropriate.
5. Interpret policies, leases, by-laws, declarations, articles, and coverages, applying them to assigned losses.
6. Make independent decisions, self-supervise most files, and recognize when assistance is needed.
7. Provide claim process updates and status to all parties; answer questions or redirect as necessary.
8. Serve as a mentor and subject matter expert for less experienced adjusters.
9. Perform additional assignments or participate in projects based on skills and experience.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements:

1. Experience providing customer-driven solutions and support.
2. Experience handling Third-Party, multi-line, and Property Damage Liability claims.
3. Experience managing simple to moderately complex claims.
4. Extensive knowledge of policies and endorsements.
5. Deep understanding of each phase of the claim handling process.
6. 5+ years of liability claims experience preferred.

Licenses:

• Obtain state-specific property casualty claims licensing as required.

Travel Requirements:

• Up to 10%
