Job summary

M&T Bank Corporation seeks a Hogan Senior Software Engineer to advance mainframe modernization and support Core Deposits systems. You will design, develop and maintain Hogan IDS, CIS, UMB, and RPM applications and batch processes, collaborating with senior technical leaders to improve DevOps automation on the mainframe.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree and a minimum of 5 years’ systems analysis and/or application development experience, or Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years’ experience.
• Advanced proficiency in: Hogan IDS / CIS / RPM / UMB JCL / JSCAN EZTRIEVE TSO/ISPF Utilities CA7 FILEAID XPEDITER ABEND-AID.
• Strong understanding of batch processing, data flows, and performance tuning.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex system issues in large-scale environments.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Hogan IDS / CIS / UMB / RPM applications and batch processes.
• Work with Hogan-related tools (JCL, JSCAN, EZTRIEVE, TSO/ISPF Utilities, CA7, FILEAID, XPEDITER, ABEND-AID).
• Leverage DevOps pipeline to build, test, and deploy code.
• Troubleshoot production issues ensuring reliability and performance of mission-critical systems.
• Leverage zOS Connect and REST services for APIs and data integration.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on analysis, design, testing, and implementation.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in code reviews and architecture discussions.
