Job summary

MedQuest Imaging is seeking an experienced Senior HL7 / Healthcare Interoperability Engineer to design, develop, test, deploy, and support HL7 interfaces across radiology, revenue cycle, dictation, PACS, and third-party systems within a nationwide imaging network.

You will work with cloud-based middleware, IaC (Terraform), and REST APIs to ensure reliable, scalable integrations while collaborating with clinical, operational, vendor, and technical stakeholders in fast-paced implementation

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in healthcare interoperability, interface development, or healthcare systems integration.
• Strong hands-on experience with HL7 interface engines and healthcare messaging workflows.
• Experience integrating healthcare applications across RIS, PACS/VNA, dictation, and revenue cycle systems.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, Python, Java, SQL, REST APIs, and cloud-based middleware.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support HL7 interfaces and healthcare interoperability solutions.
• Build and maintain system-to-system integrations across clinical, operational, and financial platforms.
• Configure message transformations, routing logic, and workflow orchestration within interface engines.
• Develop integrations using HL7 v2.x, REST APIs, web services, and SQL-based data integrations.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement sustainable solutions.
• Create monitoring, alerting, and recovery processes for critical integrations.
• Document interfaces, workflows, and technical specifications.
