Job summary

IntelePeer/Aqurio seeks a Senior Integration Engineer, Healthcare to own the design, development, and reliability of integrations connecting our AI agents with ambulatory EHRs and practice management systems. The initial focus is enabling end-to-end scheduling and patient collections workflows.

You will design, build, and maintain HL7v2 and FHIR interfaces across athenahealth, Denticon, Dentrix, ModMed, Raintree, and Open Dental, plus related HL7v2 and X12 handling, with a strong emphasis on

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software/integration engineering with HL7v2 and FHIR in production healthcare environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
• Experience coordinating multiple engineers across concurrent customers—comfortable keeping standards and delivery consistent in a fluid, demand-driven team structure.
• Based in the USA and authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• Strong programming skills in Python (and comfort with JavaScript/TypeScript or Java/Groovy for engine scripting).
• Solid understanding of healthcare data concepts (LOINC, SNOMED CT, ICD-10, CPT, RxNorm).
• Working knowledge of integration connectivity and security: MLLP, SFTP, REST, OAuth2/SMART, TLS/mTLS.
• Experience with HIPAA/HITECH, SOC 2, HITRUST controls.
• Reliability mindset: observability, idempotency, retries, reconciliation, graceful degradation.
• Excellent communicator with structured, concise style.

Responsibilities

• Own technical design, development, and reliability of healthcare integrations.
• Coordinate multiple integration teams across customers and maintain standards.
• Define and maintain mappings for patients, locations, providers, and scheduling data.
• Ensure data quality, patient matching, and PHI de-identification across data flows.
• Mentor engineers and establish interoperability standards across the org.
• Collaborate with Backend, AI, Product, and Implementation teams to map clinical workflows into integration contracts.
