Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a scientific field or AS/AA in science or chemistry.
• Minimum five years in an anatomic pathology lab with gross, embedding, cutting, and staining.
• ASCP Histotechnician certification preferred (HT/HTL).
• Familiarity with CAP/CLIA and state/federal laboratory regulations.
• Knowledge of histological techniques and laboratory equipment.

Responsibilities

• Accession, gross, process, embed, and cut blocks of pathology specimens.
• Participate daily in routine histology lab operations efficiently.
• Troubleshoot histology equipment and report issues to supervisor.
• Maintain daily records and equipment maintenance logs.
• Check work for accuracy and quality.
• Data entry into Vital Access Lab information system.
