Job summary

Atoms in San Francisco seeks a Staff Systems Integration Engineer to own hardware-in-the-loop benches validating the autonomy stack off-vehicle. You will architect, build, instrument, and automate the bench from architecture through commissioning for daily use by software and autonomy teams.

This deeply hands-on role requires expertise in vehicle networks, real-time models, Python/C++, ROS, and test automation, with strong documentation practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Electrical/Computer/Mechanical Eng or related; 8+ years experience or Masters with 6+ years.
• Hands-on experience designing and building hardware-in-the-loop or system-level test benches from architecture to bring-up.
• Proficiency with vehicle networks (CAN, CAN FD, LIN, Automotive Ethernet) and restbus simulation.

Responsibilities

• Own system bench architecture, build, wiring harness design, and commissioning.
• Simulate vehicle systems and manage network traffic, power, ignition, and test interfaces.
• Replay sensor data with time synchronization and plan for closed-loop replay implementations.
• Design and maintain automated test frameworks and CI integration.
