Job summary

CDM Smith in Chicago seeks a Senior Transportation Engineer to lead large-scale urban mobility projects, including highways, tunnels and mass transit systems. You will develop designs under supervision and ensure compliance with regulations while guiding junior staff.

You will also engage with clients, review proposals, and represent the firm at industry events to showcase our capabilities and project outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Transportation, or Structural Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional engineering (PE) license.
• 7 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Lead transportation projects in Chicago, including highways, tunnels, and mass transit systems.
• Review draft designs for compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
• Provide mentorship to junior staff and supervise engineers where appropriate.
• Collaborate with sales staff to respond to RFPs and review proposals for regulatory adherence.
• Meet with clients to review current and future design needs and attend industry conferences.
