Job summary

CDM Smith seeks a Senior Transportation Engineer to lead technical planning, design, and delivery of major transportation projects such as highways, bridges, and transit facilities. The role includes serving as Project Technical Leader, coordinating disciplines, and ensuring technical accuracy across deliverables.

The position partners with the Project Manager to align scope, schedule, budget, staffing, risk, and client expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Transportation, or Structural Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional engineering (PE) license.
• 10 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• Travel frequency depends on duties and project demands.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for transportation projects including highways, bridges, and transit facilities.
• Coordinate cross-discipline technical work and interfaces.
• Review designs for compliance with standards and client criteria.
• Sign and seal designs as required and mentor engineering staff.
• Support project delivery through quality control and risk management.
