Job summary

Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) seeks an experienced Highway Safety Office Manager to supervise a team and manage all federal funds from NHTSA on an annual basis. You will ensure alignment with CDOT safety goals, lead grant programs, and direct stakeholder collaboration.

The role requires strong leadership, budget management, and extensive grants experience within a political environment. Hybrid/office work and travel are expected as part of the duties.

Qualifications

  • 9+ years of full-time professional experience in public health, criminal justice, public administration, finance/accounting, or related fields.
  • 5+ years in project or program planning, grants management, or related work.
  • Experience leading high-performance teams and managing budgets.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the development, implementation, and evaluation of planning documents and grant applications.
  • Sets strategies and goals to reduce traffic fatalities through grant-funded education and enforcement programs.
  • Oversees the flow of federal and state grant funding to 80+ grantees and ensures compliance with fiscal rules.
  • Develops and forecasts annual budgets exceeding $12 million for multiple programs.
  • Leads the Highway Safety Office as Senior Leader and engages with high-level stakeholders.
