Job summary

State of Colorado seeks a Highway Safety Office Manager (Grants Specialist VI) to oversee federal and state grant programs, lead a team, and ensure compliance with NHTSA standards. The role interfaces with regional and federal partners to advance traffic safety initiatives.

The position requires strong budget, policy, and program management skills, with a focus on data-driven safety planning and stakeholder collaboration. Hybrid schedule and travel may be required.

Qualifications

• 9 years of full-time professional experience in public health, criminal justice, public administration, finance, or related fields.
• Experience with grants management or program planning with community engagement and partnerships.
• Ability to lead high-performance teams and manage HR processes; strong ethics and integrity.

Responsibilities

• Oversee development, implementation, and evaluation of planning documents (AGA, 3HSP) per NHTSA requirements.
• Set strategies to reduce behavioral-related traffic fatalities via federal/state grants and programs.
• Direct the flow of grant funding to 80+ grantees and ensure compliance with fiscal rules.
