Job summary

GFT is seeking a Highway Project Manager to oversee roadway projects from concept through construction in New Jersey. The role requires hybrid attendance at our East Brunswick, Morristown, or Marlton offices and coordination with clients and subconsultants on multi-disciplinary teams.

The ideal candidate will have a PE in NJ (or eligibility), 10+ years of highway design experience, and proven ability to manage scopes, budgets, and schedules while maintaining GFT’s quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Licensed PE in NJ or eligibility via reciprocity within 3–6 months is expected.
• Minimum 10+ years of highway design experience.
• Experience with design/bid/build and design/build delivery.
• Strong client and stakeholder relationship skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead full lifecycle roadway projects from concept through construction support.
• Supervise roadway design tasks for multiple delivery methods.
• Develop scopes, budgets, and schedules with progress reporting.
• Prepare plans, reports, and bid packages with cost estimates.
• Coordinate with clients, subconsultants, and external stakeholders.
• Manage multi-disciplinary project teams and assist in proposals.
• Ensure projects comply with GFT’s Quality Management System.
• Foster relationships with New Jersey clients.
