Job summary

The Arizona Department of Transportation Show Low Maintenance is seeking a Highway Operations Technician 4 to supervise crews, schedule work, inspect projects, and ensure safety and compliance on state roadways. Nights and on‑call shifts may be required.

You will work with heavy trucks and equipment, manage budgeting tasks, and coordinate with engineers and field staff to keep roads safe and reliable for the traveling public. A valid CDL with endorsements is required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of highway operations and vehicle/equipment maintenance workflows.
• Familiarity with Pecos reporting, inventory and procurement processes.
• Awareness of applicable laws, safety rules, and public relations.
• Proficiency in math, English, and basic computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Operate and train teams on heavy vehicles and equipment used in roadway work.
• Inspect and document status of highway features and safety components.
• Assist with unit budget oversight and Pecos data entry.
• Provide safe, efficient transportation services and support public needs.
