Job summary

Arizona Department of Transportation in Show Low is seeking a Highway Operations Technician 4 to lead field crews, schedule work, and overseeresponsive maintenance tasks on roadways and related facilities. The role includes training staff, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and coordinating with stakeholders to deliver reliable, high‑quality service.

The position may require night work and emergency callouts; a valid CDL and endorsements are required at appointment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of procedures and methods for operation, maintenance and minor repair of roadway vehicles/equipment.
• Office procedures, Pecos reporting and inventory management.
• Familiarity with traffic safety regulations and public relations best practices.
• Math, English, and computer literacy including basic reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Operate and train others on highway vehicles and equipment.
• Inspect and document status of road features and equipment.
• Assist with unit budgeting and contract administration.
• Oversee crew work, assign tasks and ensure safety compliance.
