State of Nebraska is seeking a Highway Maintenance Worker/Senior for the Lincoln area to operate striping and bridge crew equipment and perform road maintenance.

The role requires a valid driver’s license; Senior requires Class A/B CDL with air brakes and tanker endorsements within 60 days. CDL and tanker endorsements may qualify for pay differentials after milestones. Benefits include extensive leave, retirement and health coverage.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older with a valid driver's license.
• Senior role requires Class A or B CDL with air brakes and tanker endorsements within 60 days.
• Preferred: experience operating heavy equipment or farming background.
• Class A CDL with tanker endorsement may be required; pesticide license optional.
• Must obtain Class A with O restriction and tanker endorsement within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Operates striping/bridge crew equipment such as pavement stripers, trucks, and related gear.
• Moves, loads, and unloads materials and equipment from roadway within weight limits.
• Maintains equipment and grounds at maintenance yards; participates in servicing/repairs.
• Patches roadways and structures; repairs signs and snow-related safety features.
• Works in all weather and during traffic management activities; on-call as required.
