Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT) is seeking a dedicated team member for highway maintenance duties in Stapleton, NE. The role requires operating heavy highway maintenance equipment, performing repairs, and supporting snow removal and emergency response.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver’s license.
• Senior role requires Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License with air brakes and tanker endorsements within 60 days of employment.
• Experience operating heavy equipment preferred.
• Commercial Pesticide applicator license, and basic computer experience.
• Other: CDL with tanker endorsement and in-house CDL training program.

Responsibilities

• Operates highway maintenance equipment (trucks, rollers, loaders, graders, snowplows, etc.).
• Performs maintenance on equipment and facilities; patches roadways and repairs signs.
• Responds to snow removal and emergencies, including nights, weekends, and adverse weather.
• Trains coworkers in maintenance tasks and safety procedures.
• Includes on-call duties and possible emergencies.
