Job summary

The State of Iowa seeks a Highway Technician Senior to lead a field crew, model safety, and deliver high-quality highway maintenance. You will guide daily operations, coordinate with supervisors, and ensure timely completion of tasks while prioritizing safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities include snow operations, traffic control support, CDL training assistance, and ongoing safety briefings. A CDL permit/endorsements and residency requirements apply as stated.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with four years of highway maintenance or related experience.
• Ability to lead a team, communicate clearly, and respond to emergencies.
• CDL permit, endorsements, and adherence to safety policies are required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and drive team success with supervision.
• Respond to emergencies such as accidents or urgent repairs.
• Coordinate and manage snow operations and operate snow equipment.
• Use technology to manage daily office tasks and workflows.
• Host daily operational meetings and monthly safety huddles.
• Assist with traffic control maintenance and CDL training.
