Job summary

The Broward County Board of County Commissioners is seeking an Engineering Unit Supervisor for the Highway Construction and Engineering Division. This role oversees design and review of capital mobility projects, coordinating schedules, budgets, and staff assignments with municipalities, state agencies, and local authorities.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's in civil engineering, 6+ years of professional experience in roadway design/construction, and at least 2 years in supervision,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering required.
• Six years of professional engineering experience in roadway design/construction.
• Two years of supervisory experience.
• Florida Professional Engineer license required for duration of assignment.
• Experience coordinating with municipalities, state agencies, and local authorities.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, assign, and supervise engineering design projects for roadway/major corridors.
• Review and coordinate design and construction plans, budgets, and staff assignments.
• Supervise right-of-way and construction plan preparation for major thoroughfares.
• Oversee environmental licensing programs and remedial action reviews.
• Coordinate with outside agencies and consultants; prepare reports for executives.
