Job summary

The Broward County Board of County Commissioners seeks an Engineering Unit Supervisor for the Highway Construction and Engineering Division. The role manages capital and mobility projects, coordinating with municipalities, state agencies, and local authorities.

Responsibilities include planning, scheduling, budgeting, and staff assignments for complex roadway initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a Florida-licensed Professional Engineer and at least six years of progressive engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Six years progressively responsible professional engineering experience in roadway design and construction, including two years in a supervisory role.
• Professional Engineer license in the State of Florida for duration of assignment.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, supervise, and coordinate engineering design projects for roadways and major thoroughfares.
• Direct field surveys, plan design, cost estimation, and specifications preparation.
• Review studies and designs by consultants and prepare recommendations for leadership.
• Prepare right-of-way and construction plans and liaise with outside agencies.
• Supervise construction engineers, inspectors, and materials technicians on public works projects.
• Oversee environmental licensing programs and remedial action plans.
• Coordinate long-range studies and seal engineering plans and drawings.
