Job summary

Langan is seeking a Senior Highway / Roadway Engineer to join its Austin, Texas team. This role focuses on the design of highways, freeways, and local roads for transportation projects nationwide, with opportunities to work on permitting and cross-disciplinary initiatives.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years of relevant experience, an active EIT (PE preferred), and proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and related design tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• 6+ years of work-related experience.
• EIT certification; PE preferred.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Office.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail with analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for client meetings.

Responsibilities

• Geometric designs of highways, freeways, and local roads using codes.
• Concept layout and preliminary design of roads.
• Preparation of construction plans.
• Preparation of Traffic Signalization drawings and plans.
• Design of ADA improvements.
• Design of roadway drainage networks and stormwater plans.
• Construction specifications review and cost/quantity estimation.
• Preparation of MPT plans.
• Use AutoCAD Civil 3D, Guidesign, AutoTURN for design documents.
• Perform ADA inspections of constructed facilities.
