Job summary

HNTB Corporation is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join the Highway Design team for major conventional and alternative delivery infrastructure projects. The role requires advanced engineering, coordination, preconstruction, and program-level activities to ensure high quality execution and compliance with contractual requirements.

This position supports planning, environmental, controls and traffic teams to deliver complex projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 8+ years of relevant experience (or Master’s 7+; PhD 6+).
• Leading engineering teams and mentoring staff.
• Strong collaboration across planning, environmental, controls, and traffic teams.

Responsibilities

• Uses senior-level technical expertise to select a broad range of engineering solutions.
• Leads planning, work distribution, scheduling, and budget adherence on complex projects.
• Participates in marketing activities, including proposals.
• Develops scope of work and level of effort within the discipline.
• Oversees accuracy of the project team’s design outputs.
• Mentors team members to achieve project objectives.
• Coordinates with clients and partners on multi-discipline projects.
• Leads discipline delivery on large projects and multi-discipline coordination.
