Job summary

Branch Civil is seeking a highly skilled Superintendent to join our growing Civil Division. You will work jointly with the Project Manager to ensure project success, manage schedules, control costs, supervise field operations and subcontractors, and uphold high workmanship and safety standards on time and within budget.

You will develop grand plans with the PM, preplan activities, protect margins, and maintain quality and client relations with owners, reps, architects, and engineers.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of highway/site construction experience.
• 3–5 years in a supervisory position.
• Managed highway/site projects up to $50 MM.
• DOT experience required.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Builds project in accordance with all plans and specifications.
• Develops a Grand Plan/Schedule of operation with Project Manager and communicates to employees.
• Effectively utilizes resources (people, equipment, and materials).
• Supervises subcontractors to ensure quality and schedule requirements.
• Preplans and communicates project activities; plans ahead.
• Reviews budget, time constraints, cost codes, and purchase control.
• Reviews cost status report for accuracy and integrity; takes corrective action to protect margin.
• Establishes a level of quality by which all completed work is measured.
• Responsible for day‑to‑day quality control of company‑performed and subcontractor work.
• Directly in charge of safety and incident control; enforces safety policy.
• Motivates employees to achieve desired results.
• Establishes positive relationships with owners, owner's reps, architects, and engineers.
