Job summary

Civil Works Contracting is seeking a Superintendent – Heavy Civil Construction to oversee large-scale projects such as highways, bridges, and utilities. You will manage on-site activities, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure quality, safety, and schedule compliance.

Required: high school diploma (bachelor preferred), 7+ years in heavy civil construction with 3+ in supervision, ability to read drawings, and proficiency with project management software and MS Office.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in heavy civil construction, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
• Proven track record managing complex projects such as roads, bridges, tunnels, or large utility installations.
• Strong knowledge of construction safety standards and regulations.
• Excellent leadership, teamwork, and communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications.
• Proficiency with project management software and MS Office Suite.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise all on-site construction activities, ensuring adherence to project plans and specifications.
• Coordinate subcontractors, trades, and labor to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion.
• Maintain project schedules, budgets, and monitor resource allocation.
• Implement and enforce safety policies and procedures; conduct safety meetings and site inspections.
• Report project progress to senior management and resolve any field issues promptly.
• Ensure quality control and compliance with relevant codes and standards.
• Manage equipment, materials, and site logistics effectively.
• Engage with clients, engineers, and regulatory agencies as needed.
